These bright red, 10"x13", waterproof "Resident Evacuation Documents," or RED envelopes, were designed by AHCA's Disaster Planning Committee to assist facilities to evacuate residents in emergencies. The RED envelope is pre-printed with the basic information that should go with a resident in an evacuation, e.g., allergies, a photo, emergency contact numbers, etc. In addition to its value during an emergency evacuation, it also provides an opportunity to talk with residents and their families, at the time of admission, about a facility's emergency evacuation plan. No facility should be without this simple and effective tool for evacuation.
